Evaluation of the Youth Sexual Health Website ‘Get the Facts’

Description

In 2009, the Sexual Health and Blood-borne Virus (BBV) Program launched their ‘Get the Facts’ website. The website provides the young people who visit it with information about sexual health, BBVs and sexual relations, and about where they can access appropriate health services in the metropolitan and regional areas. In 2010, Shelby was engaged by the Communicable Disease Control Directorate to evaluate the website. The evaluation included an analysis of the meta-data already available, and the collection and analysis of qualitative data through pilot-testing and focus groups, utilising scenario storyboards created by Shelby. Shelby made recommendations based on this data, and utilised website design expertise to provide ways of improving the website, and better promote and market it to the target population. Shelby drafted a journal article which has recently been published in the Health Promotion Journal of Australia.
