Shelby was contracted in 2011 to carry out a literature review and stakeholder consultation for an outcome evaluation of the six Metropolitan Family Violence Courts (FVC) in Western Australia. The evaluation reviewed the design and operation of the FVC against good practice as well as the operation and outcomes of the FVC. It included a literature review of current trends in Family Violence Courts, both interstate and overseas.
The evaluation also included phone interviews with victims, face-to-face interviews with government and non-government stakeholders and interview and a focus group with offenders involved with the FVC. The project identified perceptions regarding victim programs, services and outcomes, offender processes, Indigenous programs, the suitability of personnel involved with the court, and future directions. Data from a departmental victim satisfaction survey was analysed and incorporated into the results.Back To Project List
